Tereza Apostol is MidOcean Energy’s General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer, a position she has held since September 2024. Tereza directs the company’s worldwide legal and regulatory affairs, governance and compliance. Prior to joining MidOcean Energy, Tereza served as Head of Legal at Neptune Energy, focusing on M&A, Corporate Finance and Strategic Partnerships. While in private practice until 2018, she was a member of the Corporate Energy and Infrastructure practice group at Herbert Smith Freehills. During her legal career, Tereza was instrumental in completing a number of significant transactions, including, most recently, the acquisition of ENGIE’s global exploration and production portfolio by Neptune Energy (backed by the Carlyle Group, CVC Capital Partners and a group of co-investors) and the successful sale of Neptune Energy to Eni (an Italian supermajor energy company). Tereza obtained her academic degrees from King’s College London and BPP University Law School, followed by executive education at the London School of Economics and the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.
